Upper Delaware Scenic and Recreational River invites the community to help us celebrate the National Park Service’s 100th Birthday.

BEACH LAKE, PA – Upper Delaware Scenic and Recreational River is celebrating the National Park Service’s 100th birthday and you are invited to come celebrate with us! On Saturday August 13th, join park staff and partners between 10AM and 2PM for a free birthday party event at the Narrowsburg Fireman’s Field in Narrowsburg, NY.

Bring your family for a day along the Delaware River with free games, prizes, music, food, and fun. Throughout the day adults and kids alike can play “Pin the Tail on the Bison”, challenge each other in sack races and water balloon races, drop park staff (including the Superintendent!) into the dunk tank and jam with local radio station 95.3 DNH, as they broadcast live from the party. The kids can also take a pony ride between 11AM and 1PM. Get your camera ready at 11AM as the National Canoe Safety Patrol forms the number “100” with their canoes and kayaks in the Narrowsburg Pool.
Plan to stay for lunch with hamburgers and hotdogs being sold by the Narrowsburg Fire Department and free cotton candy. And what birthday would be complete without a birthday cake, donated by Woodloch Resort, being served at 12PM – after singing “Happy Birthday” of course. Enter to win door prizes from local businesses and don’t be late because the first 100 people to the event also receive a free gift bag.

Part of the fun is also educational. Members of the Wayne County Amateur Radio Club will be present, giving a live demonstration of HAM Radio operation. They will be contacting other radio clubs across the world during the party. The Delaware Highlands Conservancy will help us celebrate by sharing their knowledge about the conservation and preservation efforts happening in the Delaware River Valley! And the Tusten Historical Society will be present to share information on the history of Narrowsburg itself.
The party will take place rain or shine! The rain location for the event will be the Narrowsburg Union, located at 7 Erie Ave, Narrowsburg, NY 12764.
