Hancock Improves Golf Course With UDC State Grant Funds

NARROWSBURG – The Upper Delaware Council (UDC) presented the Town of Hancock with a check in the amount of $3,125 on October 20 representing its share of a $25,000 Aid to Localities funding program that Senator John J. Bonacic secured for the UDC’s eight New York State member towns in the FY 2009-2010 budget.

The Town of Hancock applied its funding toward the acquisition of equipment and accessories for the recently reopened Town of Hancock Golf Course. Materials were purchased from Moffett Turf Equipment in Cohoes, NY in July and August.

The town operates the golf course as a public recreational facility and parkland. The NYS Department of Environmental Conservation’s Contract and Grant Development Unit is administering the funding on behalf of the state.

From FY 2000 through this grant round, Senator Bonacic has secured $390,000 for Upper Delaware River Valley town projects that promote tourism, improve town-owned facilities, or enhance river access through contracts administered by the UDC.
