Lumberland Completes 2019 Upper Delaware Council Technical Assistance Grant

NARROWSBURG – The Town of Lumberland, NY has created a “Guide to Permits” brochure with funding from the Upper Delaware Council’s (UDC) Fiscal Year 2019 Technical Assistance Grants program.

The Town of Lumberland Building Department worked with subcontractor W Design of Barryville, NY to develop a concise, tri-fold brochure which identifies the procedures to acquire various permits from the town and answer frequently asked questions.

The document provides a tool to help current residents and new property and business owners navigate the permit process, which is a benefit to maintaining an orderly community and environment consistent with Town of Lumberland Zoning and the Upper Delaware River Management Plan’s Land and Water Use Guidelines.

A payment of $787.00 was approved on July 23. Total project cost was $975 for design work, photographs, and production of 2,000 copies by Spencer Printing of Honesdale, PA.

The UDC approved four Fiscal Year 2019 Technical Assistance Grants (TAG) totaling $11,387 on Oct. 4. The deadline for project completions is August 30.

Since its inception in 1988, the UDC has awarded a cumulative total of $868,575 to fund 253 projects through the TAG program.
The planning-oriented grants are available competitively to the UDC’s 13 member towns and townships, and five encompassing county governments in NY and PA.

Applications for the Fiscal Year 2020 round are due by 4:30 p.m. on August 30. For guidelines and a directory of projects accomplished, visit www.upperdelawarecouncil.org.
